MATERIALHAUS / PLUG-INS

Your library,
inside the software you draw in.

Apply a material with one click without leaving SketchUp or Revit — at the real-world size it was made to, not at whatever size the texture happens to be.

HOW IT WORKS

01

Sign in once

The plug-in opens your browser. Sign in with Google or email, whichever you use on MATERIALHAUS, and the plug-in is connected.

02

Select, then click

Select what should take the material and click it in the library. With nothing selected, the host’s own paint tool takes over.

03

At its real size

Every material arrives at the extent its texture covers in the world, so a 600 × 1200 mm slab measures 600 × 1200 mm on the wall.

WHAT ARRIVES

SketchUp Revit
Colour map at real-world size✓✓
Normal, roughness and height maps—✓
Surface and cut fill patterns—✓
Applied to the selection in one undo step✓✓
The host’s own picking when nothing is selected✓✓
Reuses a material already in the model✓✓

SketchUp’s own display draws the colour map only. The other maps are kept with the material for renderers that read them.

BETA

Said plainly

  • Both have been run end to end inside their host. Revit fill patterns have not yet been checked against the reference fixtures, so both are marked beta until that is done.
  • The Revit add-in is not yet code-signed, so Revit asks before loading it the first time. Signing comes with the Autodesk App Store release.
  • The plug-ins talk only to the MATERIALHAUS server. Nothing about your model leaves your computer, and there is no usage tracking.

The plug-ins show the materials you make on MATERIALHAUS.
